Indigo Peak are an Electropop duo, occasional television personalities and CEO's of Ensemble Entertainment, consisting of brothers Yannik McQueen and Andre Cassenove. To date, the pair have scored eleven consecutive number one singles and three number one albums, all of which are certified diamond - making them the most successful group in Urapopstar history.

The pair are most noted for their singles "Active Duty"/"Fever", "Grand Theft Auto", "Kissing A Cobra," and recent Christmas number one "Fire! Scream!"/"Pornographic".

Aside from their phenomenal commercial success, the brothers are regularly celebrated by critics garnering favourable reviews in most music publications, however their success has had it's fair share of backlash - predomenantly from religious groups and in specific the Westboro Baptist Church, who have used extremist methods to inform the world of their hate for Indigo Peak.

The duo are also celebrated as notorious producers, both writing and producing significant hits for other artists many of which have seen number one success. They are notable for their contributions to China's "Censor My Ambitions," and Emily Henning's "Seventeen Missing Kisses."

In 2010, Andre Cassenove entered into the world of online television when he announced the eagerly awaited debut of his webisode series "Uramoviestar."

Member Yannik is the husband of popstar Jake with whom he had one child and Andre once notoriously dated Jack Stevens.

In February 2010, the brothers cancelled single "Killing Games" alongside the re-release of their third studio album in favour of a brief hiatus in order to put finishing touches to their fourth offering "Brand New Blindfold."

Formation and Discovery (2005-2008)

From an early age Brothers Andre and Yannik Cassenove had expressed a keen interest in music, particularly in the electropop genre. By their early teens, both had generally given up on academics chosing instead to pursue a career in the music industry.

Whilst both working at a local McDonalds in the Bulgarian city of Sophia, the two formed a band with close friends Stefan Ulritch and Donnatella Brunswick and began performing small sets at local bars and nightspots. "The Light Fantastic," as they were then known, would go on to meet a tragic end when a tour bus crash left Ulritch and Brunswick battling for their lives whilst the Brothers were treated for severe injuries. The former two later died in hospital leaving the future of the Cassenove's music career uncertain.

Choosing to carry on as a duo, Andre and Yannik renamed themselves "Indigo Peak," a name of whose origins have to this date not been clarified. They performed further sets including Daft Punk covers and as luck would have it, were spotted by Joseph Maine who would later go on to become their manager.

Whisking the pair to London, the duo spent three years writing and recording almost 200 hundred tracks, before selecting 13 for a proposed studio album and label shopping with five track album samplers.

Sex Sells (2008)

In early 2008 Indigo Peak were snapped up by Wired Records for a one single deal with debut Beat Junkie. Following critical acclaim leading to its top five placing, the duo were signed on for a three album deal reportedly worth 1.8 million pounds. Gaining support from national DJ's and music press alike, the label quickly planned a follow up single in the form of Song 4 China/Forget Me, a double a side with the first half featuring vocals from popstar and greenpeace advocate China.

Song 4 China/Forget Me would become what many consider to be Indigo Peak's breakthrough hit, when it rose to the number one position in its second week on the UK singles chart. On the same date, the pair released their debut album Sex Sells, again to much critical acclaim and also hitting the number one spot. During this time, member Yannik began a long term relationship with fellow popstar Jake, who he would later collaborate with and marry, adopting his surname.

Indigo Peak then took to producing material for others as well as releasing their accoustic collaborative album Social Rehab which peaked at number four on the UK Album Charts.

Active Duty & Fake Marriages

Active Duty/Fever - 2008's highest selling single

Following the phenomenal success of it's predecessors, fan favourite and Izzy colaboration Active Duty/Fever was selected as the bands third single release. This again cemented the duo's roots in electropop and further continued their success when it became the highest selling number one single of the year, as well the overall number one single of 2008. During this time, Andre would end his relationship with Wired Records boss Arwyn Knight, amid rumours (which were later confirmed) that he had cheated on her with a plethora of popstars including London Star and Izzy.

In a shock move Andre married Jack Stevens and announced he suffered from an addiction to sex. The marriage would later be exposed as fake and merely a publicity stunt in one of the most talked about media events of 2008.

The final single to be lifted from Sex Sells was Dr Go Faster. Continuing their run of high octane, fast paced electro numbers, the single again hit the number one spot spending two weeks at the top and becoming another high selling single of 2008. Alongside this came a special edition re-release of the debut album which went on to be certified diamond for over 1000,000 copies sold.

Arcadium (2008-2009)

Following the release of Dr Go Faster, it was announced that Indigo Peak would be parting ways with Wired Records amidst a mass of rumours of potential rifts between them and management. This was later confirmed when Yannik revealed "Wired wanted us to stall, make another Sex Sells - and that just wasnt where we were at creatively!"

The duo then signed a five album deal with Ensemble Entertainment, home to the likes of Jack Stevens, Izzy and Alesha. Many critics cited the decision to move labels as a negative factor in Indigo Peak's only short career, especially when news that they would release a second studio album before the end of 2008 was revealed.

In August 2008, limited information on what was to become Arcadium was officially released to the media. Single Grand Theft Auto was announced as the debut release from the LP, proving any nay-sayers wrong when it again hit the number one spot upon release, remaining there for two weeks. It was also the fifth highest selling single of 2008. As hype began to surround the initial release of the album, critical reviews began to flood into the national music press, most of which were extremely positive with NME even citing Indigo Peak as "a defining act of the decade."

Arcadium continued the run of album success, when it too hit the number one spot upon release.

Partners In Crime

As a breather from Indigo Peak, Yannik Cassenove announced he would be releasing a collaborative solo single with partner and now husband Jake. Partners In Crime/Not Tonight Santa was released surrounding much press regarding the pairs marriage, and secured the coveted christmas number one spot in December 2008. The single was a massive success, when it spent four (non consectutive) weeks at the top of the singles charts, selling over 400,000 copies in its first five weeks alone. It also became the highest selling single of all time, and the first single in history to sell over 700,000 copies.

Kissing a Cobra to Red Raw

Kissing A Cobra was chosen as the second release from Arcadium, becoming their fifth number one and in January 2009, Yannik entered the Celebrity Big Brother house with a vow to "stir things up." It is widely believed he was sent into the house as a result of low ratings. However boredom ensued, and following an incident that involved Jake headbutting fellow popstar Alex Washington, the pair walked from the Big Brother House.

Filthy Preacher/Shoot to Kill, a collaboration with Alesha soon followed as a third single. The collaboration became Indigo Peak's sixth consecutive number one. The duo then announced a short break whilst the Alesha collaboration served to increase sales of Arcadium, when in March 2009, it was certified Diamond for over one million copies sold.

"Media answerback," and critcially acclaimed track Red Raw, became the fourth single from Arcadium. Sheduled for release May 18th 2009, the single was reportedly brought forward from a July release because in Yannik's words, "I got bored."

Around the same time, the brothers signed a deal reportedly worth £100,000,000 to front their label Ensemble Entertainment and take over ownership.

Following the news, the brothers made a series of changes at the label starting with the culling of inactive acts. Further leading to Yannik's admission that the label was in the red, with much of the dividends earnt from the takeover deal being eaten up by debts largely caused by Alex Washington.

However the brothers plouged on, releasing a remix album on May 25th 2009 in the form of Cut the Fuck Up and attempting to run Ensemble by "business as usual."

May 2009 also saw Indigo Peak score five awards at the Urapopstar Awards 16 ceremony. A fantastic feat for a relatively new act. Scoring the Awards for "Best Group," "Best Artwork," "Best Songwriter," "Best Newcomers," and "Best Collaboration," the brothers also took starring roles in the show to present both the Red Carpet Show and Ceremony itself.

Red Raw became the duo's seventh number one upon release and marked the end of the Arcadium era whilst Cut the Fuck Up was a sizable hit at number two.

Long Live (2009)

The Uraps Awards 16 saw Indigo Peak premiere a snippet of an unreleased track, with Ensemble staff confirming that it was in fact from a future album project. This was later confirmed by the brothers themselves when during an audio interview, the pair stated a new LP (eventually revealed to be titled Long Live) was in post production.

Early July 2009 saw the brothers announce a new single when Cold War was revealed via popjustice. The single premiered to extremely positive reviews, many noting the "creative shift," to a harder edge as a standout factor. Cold War became the duo's eigth number one when it debuted on the official UK top 40 during the first week of August 2009. Having been knocked off the top spot by Sophie Ramone's "Suck My Tits," the single returned to the number one position the following week - beating competition from Jack Stevens.

"Long Live," became the duo's third LP to debut at the number one spot when it charted in August 2009.

Finger, Button, Push to Killing Games

Following the success of "Long Live," the pair announced that 2010 would see them complete their album campaign, before both engaging in solo projects prior to recording a fourth studio album. They are also rumoured to be working with Romo on a collaboration for her upcoming third studio album.

Finger, Button, Push and Space Invaders became the second single to be lifted from the third LP and it debuted at #1 in September 2009, making the release the duo's ninth consecutive number one. The success also helped push Long Live back to the top spot, claiming it a Platinum certification.

The third single to be taken from "Long Live," was a remixed version of Izzy collaboration "Electric Eccentric," which was also partially rewritten to include additional vocals from Jack Stevens. Coinciding with the single was "Scraps: Volume One," - a compilation of the duo's b-sides and rare tracks to date. Alongside previously unreleased material, the brothers included their versions of tracks later given to other artists. Electric Eccentric became the duo's tenth number one single and as a result Indigo Peak now hold the record for most number ones held by a group.

"Long Live: The Motion Picture," became the duo's first feature film when it was released to critical acclaim in October 2009. The DVD featured a video story set to the soundtrack of their album of the same name as well as interpolations of the official music video's from that era.

The 2009 VMA's saw the brothers credited for their visual exploits for the first time when their video to Grand Theft Auto won the award for best group video. Urapopstar Awards 17 saw the brothers nominated for a host of awards once again including "best album," for "Long Live" and best writer.

The fourth single to be lifted from Long Live was the China collaboration "Fire! Scream!"/"Pornographic," the former of which had been included on China's third album "Fortune Favours The Bold." The single was released on December 14th, 2009 in a race for the Christmas number one against competition from Ben Johnston and newcomer Logan Cross. The trio won gaining Indigo Peak their eleventh number one and second Christmas number one for Yannik.

After a mere 15 weeks on the UK albums chart, Long Live was certified Diamond in November 2009.

Late 2009 saw the duo announce their third tour; "Stage Invaders 2010," which for the first time would see them travel outside of the UK. For the Asian dates, Jack Stevens was invited to co-headline with an altered version of his Affirmative Live tour.

For Indigo Peak, the end of 2009 saw the end of their best year to that point. During the course of 12 months they had gone on to scroe no less than seven consecutive number one singles, two diamond studio albums and beaten the record for most number one singles by a group. By the beginning of 2010, Indigo Peak had firmly cemented themselves as one of the most successful acts of all time.

Temporary split and musical hiatus (2010)

During promotion for ultimately cancelled single Killing Games and the re-release of their third and most successful album Long Live, Indigo Peak announced they would split with immediate effect, however did not rule out the posibility of reforming at a later date. The announcement caused waves in the media, with The Times stating "Indigo Peak have barely hit their musical stride [...] a real shame for one of the decades most innovative acts to throw in the towl."

The split occured following months of turbulent press including Andre's attempted suicide in late 2009 and tensions between the brothers only fueled further by the difficulties the pair suffered from taking over Ensemble Entertainment. The label was subsequently handed over to rising star Logan Cross, with the pair remaining silent partners with a view to retake the label should they decide to return to music.

Unreleased tracks from their cancelled "Long Live - The Evolution," were handed over to and re-recorded by other artists, with planned second single "Instinct," going to DJ Double Garage.

After a mere two month break, frontman Yannik McQueen announced via the duo's official website that the pair were recording new music with a view to release a fourth studio album by summer 2010. The singer cited boredom and "a sudden surge in creative energy," as reasons for the return, furthermore adding "the sudden cancellation earlier this year was a rash decision and something I regret [...] the truth is that music is what I live for and even if this ends up being our last studio album, it's a far better way to round off our career."

Brand New Blindfold (2010)

Main article: Brand New Blindfold

In late March 2010, it was announced via the duo's official website that a new studio album was in process of recording, with a reported nine tracks completed. Later the same week, official release schedules were updated with a slated single and album release for May 24th and 31st respectively. The site reported a move towards a clubbier sound, incorporating trademark Indigo Peak electropop with house, new wave and warmer electronica. The report suggested an additional incoporation of dubstep, being the first time the duo had experimented with a more urban genre.

March 31st 2010 saw the duo's official website close with a new holding page featuring a 7 day countdown. With no explanation as to what this countdown was for - fans speculated that it would be the premier of a new song, however the official reveal came in the form of a single and album announcement the following week, confirming the single "Manhunt," and the album "Brand New Blindfold," scheduled for a late May release. A teaser track was added to the site the following week, revealed to be a short clip of the album's title track, leading to much fan discussion of the new sound the duo had favoured.

Six track promo's were sent to all major media outlets in late April 2010, featuring the lead single and five other tracks including collaborations with Paulo Araujo, Josh Hurts and Tiger Tiger. The samplers were well received with an almost universally positive response from music critics, garnering the duo a host of good reviews and further cementing their place in the popular world.

Legacy

In two short years, Indigo Peak have quickly cemented their status as one of the biggest acts of the past decade, with international success added to their string of number one's in the UK. In 2009 The Times reported the brothers to be among the highest earners in the world musically.

Their work continues to receive high praise from music press, both their own and that of the production for others. Their music has become a staple for what many acts have professed to be an influence to their own albums.

Creatively and visually, many praise the brothers for being at the forefront of popular culture. In 2008 NME described the brothers as "always on the pulse of the next big trend," when discussing their second studio album Arcadium.

Their reputation as a "tour de force," in the production world has resulted in many successful collaborations on other artists albums. The number one hit "Tune Me In Stereo," became what many would consider pop songstress China's signature tune when it hit the top spot in early 2009.

The pair - in particular Yannik, are celebrated for their outspoken, no-holds-barred attitudes. Though many of their opinions have landed them in hot water, most note their honesty (however brutal) to be refreshing, particularly The Observer who stated "in a world full of air kisses, winks and nudges - they're a light at the end of the tunnel."

Yannik McQueen

Yannik McQueen started life as an unacademic, bulshy young man who according to his brother "always rebelled...against literally everything!"

Today, McQueen is best known as the rude, offensive yet insanely witty label boss and Indigo Peak frontman. Since his arrival within the music industry, the star has made his fair share of enemies, notably including Alex Washington who he "literally cant stand."

McQueen counts extreme knitting and stamp collecting among his hobbies, and says he draws inspiration for songwriting from "word of the day toilet paper."

McQueen married boyfriend Jake in late 2008, adopting his surname.

Murder Accusations

In January 2010, McQueen was held in custody over the murder of popstar Sabrina. The singer reportedly attacked the star at her home with a hardened and burnt leg of lamb. The following day, Stiletto member Flaminga Foshizzle was also murdered, McQueen was again arrested in connection with this after the star was found bludgeoned to death in the Ensemble boss' office. McQueen was later exonnerated of all charges when Jack Stevens revealed the true killer to be Glenn Semble - the star's personal assistant. The PA had been disontented following a pay rise refusal and attempted to frame McQueen for the murders.

Public Persona

McQueen is regularly branded the "Hitler," of popular music, and as a result of his wearing a Darth Vader inspired mask for the album cover to Brand New Blindfold, he unintentionally earned the tabloid nickname of "Darth McQueen," in 2010. Reason's for these comparisons are generally considered to be a result of his sharp tongue and ruthless business sense. The star is known to drop act's at random from the Ensemble roster as a scare tactic for the remaining acts to continally write number one material. On the softer side, the singer is known to welcome papparazi, with whom he regularly acts up to in a bid to gain as much column space as he can. He is publicly close friends with singer's China and Izzy, and donates large sums of money to Cancer related charities for reasons unspecified.

Andre Cassenove

Preferring to take a more behind the scenes role with Indigo Peak, Cassenove is best known for his production skills and ill-fated relationship with Jack Stevens.

As a teenager, the star showed an affinity for music production, excelling at school in most creative areas. Cassenove freely admits that working with his brother is at times "not easy," however added "I'm filthy fucking rich thanks to that wanker!"

In his spare time, Andre - a vegetarian advocates many charities and attends meat eating related debates regularly. He is an avid science fiction fan and also enjoys painting.

Andre is bisexual. Notable relationships have included Arwyn Knight, London and Jack Stevens with a host of high profile flings with Izzy among others.

Public Persona

Cassenove is generally considered the "lesser of two evils," within the Indigo Peak camp, preferring to take a softer role with Ensemble Entertainment as his brother deals with the day to day running. He has been known to become angered at paparazzi, particularly during his on/off relationship with Jack Stevens, stating "I'd rather die in a nuclear blast than have my entire personal life blasted across The Daily Mirror." The Times reported Cassenove to be one of the top 100 richest people internationally within the music industry, both as result of continued success with Indigo Peak and producing material for other's globally.

Personal Lives

Both Indigo Peak brothers have been in and out of tabloids and media press constantly for various reasons. Yannik McQueen is regularly referred to as "the Hitler of popular music," whilst Andre receives much ridicule for his singing ability or lack there of.

Early Lives & The Third Cassenove

Whilst a great deal is not known about Indigo Peak's early lives, what has been suggested is that the two had a strained relationship with their alcoholic Mother, and we're taken away from her during their early teens followed by being put up for adoption.

Early 2009 saw the Brothers officially reveal popstar Ryan Dawson to be related to them. Ryan had escaped from the family home prior to Yannik and Andre being put up for adoption. After changing his surname, the star made a living on Bulgaria's gay sex circuit before sleeping his way to the UK.

Yannik and Jake's Relationship

In early 2008, Indigo Peak began label shopping and performing small sets at the respective label hq's in an effort to get signed. Although Ensemble Entertainment did not sign them first time round, it was here that Yannik was introduced to Jake McQueen. Following this, media speculated that the pair had begun a relationship, which was later confirmed during February 2008. Much of the year following was spent with a smattering of magazine interviews, before the pair announced their engagement and that they would marry on Christmas Eve 2008.
In late 2008 it was announced that popstar Izzy had decided to give her own Eggs as a wedding present. The baby was conceived through a complex process involving the sperm of both Jake and Yannik and on February 14th 2009, Thomas Pikachu Valentine McQueen was born.

Late June 2009 saw rumours floating around as a result of suggestive conversations between Jake and popstar Jack Stevens. The pair were known to have split up but were later seen together pointing towards a reconcilliation. Amongst much media circus, the pair sensationally split up before reconcilling days aftewards as a result of the rumours.

In December 2009, it was revealed that the pair had opened up their relationship to singer Logan Cross, who had joined the pair for various sexual engagments over the course of a three month period. The pair were said to be "delighted," at a "bit of oomph," into their sex lives.

Andre and Jack Stevens

The couple on Feb, 2010's Attitude
The couple on Feb, 2010's Attitude

One notable incident during 2008 involved a supposed "sham marriage," between Andre and Jack Stevens. It had been reported prior that Andre had been struggling with an addiction to sex, leading to his cheating on then girlfriend Arwyn Knight. However, in a shock move following Andre's official statement, he eloped to Las Vegas with Jack Stevens, marrying him that same day. Alas this was not as it seemed, when it was later revealed that the pair had been paid an undisclosed sum to stage the event, in an effort to gain further press exposure by Ensemble Entertainment.

However, an unexpected romance blossomed between the pair, and aside from a few minor incidents - the pair have been living together raising Jack's thirty children since early 2009. The pair regularly "spat," for column inches, using their relationship as a way to keep their public exposure high. In an interview, both admitted they were "extremely happy together," and "even considering a civil partnership." However, soon after, the pair split amongst much media fanfare.

Following their split in early 2010, the pair stayed close friends until the untimely death of Jack in April 2010.

Alex Washington

Whilst it is unknown how the feud began, Big Brother marked the beginning of a very public spat between Yannik and popstar Alex Washington. During Febuary 2009, Yannik was arrested and served with a restraining order after having posted "anthrax," to the popstars home. The substance was later revealed to be Talcum Powder.

February 2009 saw the pair reconcile, amidst an incident involving backlash on Phoenix Rising member Alexei Monaghan.

On the contrary, Alex and Andre had been friends from his return onto the scene. Notably, Alex was branded a bad influence when during promotion for Kissing A Cobra, their friendship further fueled rumours of discomfort in the Indigo Peak camp - particularly surrounding Andre's apparent downward spiral into the world of drugs and alcoholism. Ensemble Entertainment were rumoured to have threatened the young star with indefinate postponment of up-coming tour Arcadium Live 2009 unless he "sobered up."

Events surrounding a debacle where Alex was accused of running Ensemble to the ground via credit card fraud led to his eventual departure from the label. Rumours of further tension were later subsided when the brothers worked on a track for the stars album "Circa."

Alexei Monaghan

During February 2009, Yannik sparked further media controversy following comments made by Alexei on Alesha collaboration "Shoot to Kill." Yannik retaliated by accusing Alexei of "stealing," Indigo Peak's trademark sound. Backlash deepened when Alexei branded Indigo Peak "sub-standard celebrities," who should "learn to be ignored from time to time."

Indigo Peak and Alesha went on to reveal Alexei's true identity as a wanted Paedeophile, leading to his departure from England in an effort to "lay low," in America. Yannik would later cite "work related stress," caused by Alexei's comments as a reason for his public outbursts.

Though the nature of their current relationship is widely unknown, rumours suggest McQueen sent Alexei a muffin basket by way of apology for his outbursts.

In 2010, the two sides controversially duetted for a collaboration for inclusion on "Long Live - The Evolution," although subsiding rumours that the two still shared bad blood, Yannik McQueen reportedly demand brother Andre allow him to record his vocals in a seperate room.

The Paedofinder Generals

Main Article: Paedofinder Generals

As a result of issues surrounding the apparent "child hawking," ways of Alexei Monaghan, Indigo Peak and collaborator Alesha established the Paedofinder Generals, a government funded organisation dedicated to the capturing of paedophiles. Alesha notoriously performed a citizens arrest on Mahlee Wohp when she was spotted "lurking," by the Hospital in which Yannik and Jake's newborn baby resided. The trio were later arrested when investigations proved the government funded operation was based on "speculation," and "falsified evidence."
